Authentic Recovery Center Review
By treating no more than a dozen clients at a time, Authentic Recovery Center focuses on uncovering and treating the root cause of addiction. It was started for a very specific reason: to serve the population that desires the high-end, best-you’re-going-to-get Malibu experience at an affordable price. It treats those suffering not only from alcoholism and drug addiction but also from gambling addiction, eating disorders and co-occurring disorders, including bipolar, anxiety, depression and trauma. Authentic Recovery Center also provides private monitoring (sober coaching) as well as crisis counseling and interventions.
Accommodations and Food
Located in the middle of LA’s Westside (roughly a 15-minute drive from the beach), Authentic Recovery Center offers an atmosphere that resembles a private home. Both private and shared rooms with double beds are available. Living spaces have comfortable furnishings and flat-screen TVs. There is also a private yard with lots of green space and a nice back patio.
The food is healthy and nutritious. There is also a nutritionist on-site at all times and state of the art kitchen.
Treatment and Staff
In addition to detox and the standard 30-day inpatient treatment, Authentic Recovery Center offers 60 and 90 day plans, extended care, day and night outpatient treatment and sober living. And it is big on what tends to make a major difference in terms of an addict’s long-term chances of staying sober: a thorough family program (which includes relationship counseling and family education, among other options) and extensive aftercare planning.
Authentic Recovery Center is deeply committed to helping clients understand the prevalence of co-occurring disorders—and then treating them. It stresses the importance of devoting extended periods of time to the process of cleaning up and getting back on track. The treatment is highly personalized and daily individual therapy is an option for everyone.
The staff receives high marks all around and ARC is in-network with Anthem BCBS and accepts most outside PPO insurance.
